Welcome! These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") are the rules for using our app, Pinch of This (the "App").

By using our App, you agree to follow these rules. If you don't agree with these rules, you may not use the App.

Pinch of This is a personal tool to help you organize your recipes. You can:

• Type in recipes manually.
• Scan recipes using your camera (OCR).
• Import recipes from websites and social media using a URL you provide (the "Import Tool").
• Share recipes with other users of the App.

We need to be very clear about how our Import Tool works. When you use it, you are agreeing to the following:

• You Are in Control: The App does not automatically browse or scrape any websites on its own. It only works when you give it a URL and tell it to import a recipe.
• It's Your Action, Not Ours: You are the one initiating the import. We are just providing the tool.
• Think of it Like a Notebook: The Import Tool is meant to be the digital version of you copying or writing down a recipe for your own personal use.
• No Automated Scraping: The App does not perform any large-scale or automatic scraping. Every import is a single action started by you.

You are responsible for how you use the App.

Respect Other Websites' Rules: When you import a recipe from a website (like a food blog, YouTube, or Instagram), it is your job to make sure you are not violating that website's own Terms of Service. Many sites have rules against scraping.

Personal Use Only: You agree to use the App and any recipes you import for your own personal, non-commercial use. Do not use our App to build a collection of recipes to sell or give away.

You Assume the Risk: You understand that importing content from other sites can be risky. If a website owner or company has a problem with you importing their recipe, that is your responsibility.

No Explicit Material: Our App is for recipes. You are strictly prohibited from uploading, saving, or sharing any content that is sexually explicit, pornographic, hateful, graphically violent, or otherwise obscene. This applies to all content, including text (like in recipe titles or directions) and images (like profile photos or recipe photos). We have a zero-tolerance policy for this.

Our App lets you share recipes with other users. Here's how that works:

• Giving Credit to the Original: To respect the original creators, every recipe in the App—whether you save it or share it—keeps a link back to the original URL where it came from.
• Sharing Links, Not Just Content: When you share a recipe, the other person (the "Recipient") is shown the recipe details and the original URL.
• The Recipient Has Control: The person you share with can choose to accept the recipe or remove it from their account at any time.
• Don't Be a Spammer: Please don't use the sharing feature to harass people or send spam.

We Own the App: We own the Pinch of This App, including our branding, code, and design.

You Own Your Content: You own any recipes you type in manually.

Imported Content: We do not claim to own any of the recipes you import from other websites. You are simply storing a personal copy. You are responsible for making sure you have the right to import and store that content.

We provide the App "as-is." This means we can't and don't guarantee that it will be perfect, secure, or always available.

We are not responsible for:

• Any problems you have using the App.
• The accuracy or quality of any recipe you import.
• Any legal trouble you get into for using the App. This includes any claims from a third party that you violated their terms of service or copyright by importing their recipe.

This is another important legal section.

If we (our company and employees) get sued or face legal costs because of something you did, you agree to be responsible for those costs. This includes situations where:

• You violated these Terms.
• You violated a third party's rights (for example, by importing a recipe in a way that violated their Terms of Service or copyright).

Termination: We can stop or suspend your access to the App at any time, for any reason. We will immediately terminate your account and ban you from the service, without warning, if you violate our rules, especially the rule against posting explicit material (see Section 4).

Changes to These Rules: We may update these rules from time to time. If we do, we'll try to give you notice. If you keep using the App after the rules change, it means you agree to the new rules.

Data Retention: We only store your email and password to access the app. Payments are handled through Polar/Stripe. When you can cancel your account, we keep your login credentials so that you can still login and have access to the recipes you have in your collection.

We think that paying for something gives you a bit of ownership so you can still access your recipes even after cancellation. However, if you want your information permanently deleted just fill out the support form in the app or email us at support@pinchofthis.recipes and we will delete all of your personal data.

If you shared recipes you entered manually, those recipe are still available to the users you shared them with and they have the ability to share those with others.

We will also NEVER sell your data. It's yours and yours alone.
